SPOT/SITE: four ideas for going beyond the website

SPOT/SITE is a solution developed by CLIPEA that brings together a complete CMS and an Interactive Spot in the same environment.

The project was created to preserve two different freedoms: exploring information at your own pace and entering a story capable of guiding attention.

This is why SPOT and SITE coexist on the same domain. Visitors can choose how to enter and move from the experience to deeper information without changing environments.

Four ideas behind SPOT/SITE

The first is navigable cinema: a spot with scenes, voice, music and direction that can be explored, touched and questioned instead of merely played.

The second is digital materiality: surfaces and transitions that react to presence and can even turn loading time into part of the experience.

The third is the balance between style and freshness: generative elements and controlled variations keep the identity recognizable without making it static.

The fourth is the industry of uniqueness: CLIPEA automates and makes production complexity repeatable to leave more room for personalizing the result.

Voice and multilingual support are also part of the same architecture: the SPOT voice uses our own Kokoro installation and does not depend on the reader available in the browser.

The result is not intended to replace the website. The SITE remains a complete, freely explorable CMS; SPOT/SITE adds a second way to encounter the same company.

Navigable cinema

The spectator can become a navigator: move forward, go back, choose and respond without leaving the language of the spot.

Questions, answers and actions can appear at the point in the story where they become meaningful, instead of necessarily being postponed until the end.

When more detail is needed, the visitor moves to the SITE and is once again free to search for content, information and contacts.

Digital materiality

The Klimt Curtain sums up this idea: something that looks like an image or animation reveals itself, through a gesture, to be a living, responsive surface.

This response makes the visitor's presence perceptible and can become a scene, a separation, a transition or direction during the wait.

Digital becomes material because what is touched produces a consequence.

Style and freshness

A daily generative band and a highlight color that changes with each new visit introduce variations without abandoning the identity.

The aim is to bring freshness back to what habit wears down: recognizing the environment each time without ever finding it exactly the same.

Randomness remains subordinate to art direction, because variation must support the style, not replace it.

The industry of uniqueness

Behind SPOT/SITE are masters, parameters, generators, automations, translation, voice, media processing and infrastructure.

Industrializing these parts means making complexity sustainable without turning the result into a mass-produced product.

Industrialize what the client does not need to see, to personalize what their audience should see.

The CMS remains complete, updatable and multilingual. The additional technology stays in the background and serves to make the experience possible.

SPOT/SITE is less a sum of functions than a different way of organizing them: storytelling and information, direction and freedom, continuity and variation in the same environment.
